Sir George F Pollock's Gallery

George has been exploring light as the subject of the photograph for nearly 50 years. He wants to celebrate in images the fact that light is the energy that maintains life on earth, and believes that photography is the perfect image for this joyous endeavour.

Many of his images use the fact, first shown by Newton, that white light is the spectrum combined. He has held over 35 one-man shows, the latest, "Forms of Light", being in the Members’ Gallery of the Royal Photographic Society in August 2009.

He was invited by the late Dr Friz Gruber to show his work at Photokina in 1966, including a 10 x 8ft mural. He was elected to the London Salon in 1970 and was Chairman in 1972-74. He is a double Fellow of the RPS in Pictorial (1967) and Applied (1993), and was President of the Society in 1979-80.
