Dave’s passion for photography began as a school boy when his science teacher showed him a black and white print immerging in the tray, from that moment on he was hooked! He went straight out and bought a 126 instamatic and cassette of black & white film the very next day. Now, over 40 years on, he is still passionate about his photography. In 1976 he joined the Smethwick Photographic Society and has been an active member ever since, becoming president in 2007. He is an Associate of The Royal Photographic Society (ARPS) holds the distinction DPAGB awarded by the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain and became a member of the London Salon in 2011. He has won numerous National and International awards for his work including several London Salon medals. For many years he has been in the fortunate position of having a job that has enabled him to travel extensively around the world and photography has been a great benefit in filling the “empty” time whilst alone. All of his photography is now done digitally using mostly Nikon equipment and many hours in front of the computer.
