Colin has been making photographs in the landscape since 1959. Although he works in both monochrome and colour, from the early eighties his preferred medium has been colour slide, from which he makes prints on Ilfochrome (Cibachrome).

His exploration of the subject emphasises shape, form and texture, usually with a restricted colour palette. He occasionally uses diffusion techniques to suppress detail and add a painterly feel to his images.

He was elected a Member of the London Salon in 1990.
